The Peninsula Bangkok

We checked in to The Peninsula Bangkok around 11:30 pm. Due to the time checking in (late in the evening) we didn’t have to wait. Check-in was smooth and quick. When checking in to hotels in Thailand you are required to show your passport and departure card (filled out on the plane).

Late Night Check-in to Our Grand Deluxe Suite

Where the signature Peninsula style meets genuine Thai charm, The Peninsula Bangkok is a truly distinct urban resort experience. With a keen sense of style and savoir-faire, The Peninsula Hotels is the only hotel brand to be awarded the highest possible five-star status across all ten of its hotels by Forbes Travel Guide in 2021.

  1. WOW! Amazing room! And what a view! Great pics. (New camera getting the job done.) Time for R & R! What is the orchid floating in the water for? (Decoration? Finger bowl? … Dessert? )

    • Hmmm, that’s a good question. I think in this case it would be as decoration. Think of it as a flesh cut orchid flower in a vase of water. Also when checking into the nicer hotels it is customary for them to give you a warm wet towel to wash your hands/face (feels great after long flight), and a fresh Jasmin flower garland (Thai call it “Phuang Malai” for Jasmin Garland). The aroma of fresh Jasmin flowers is awesome in your hotel room!
