Amazing New Years 2016 Fireworks Display along Bangkok’s Riverside!

Wow, what a spectacular display of fireworks!  Right at midnight we started seeing fireworks all over the city, in every direction (quite a sight!).  Then they started shooting them off all along the riverside (including off the barges right in front of our hotel).  With our vantage point (on 19th floor) we felt like we were watching by being in the middle of them (we could feel the percussion off the blasts!).

In the end everything worked out beautifully, from our choice in the hotel, location of our room and the amazing fireworks! – we could have not asked for a better way to finish out 2015 and along with our trip to southeast Asia!   A true Grand Finale!

New Years Eve 2016 Fireworks – Bangkok Riverside District

From what we have been told by people at our hotel several hotels on Bangkok’s Riverside have fireworks displays for the New Years Eve celebration.  In addition to this, another popular New Years Even destination for fireworks on the river is “Asiatique The Riverfront”.

This year will also be the first year that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will be holding “The Thailand Countdown 2016 at Wat Arun”.  This celebration is set to be the center of the New Year celebrations in the Kingdom of Thailand, and will take place on the banks of the majestic Chao Phraya River.

Here’s a map showing all of the locations for fireworks on the Chao Phraya River.  We are very excited as our hotel (Shangri-La) is located in the middle of all these celebrations!
