Flight | Harbin to Zhengzhou

After a quick couple of days visiting all the winter wonderland activities of Harbin, it was time to move on to our next destination, Zhengzhou.

We arrived at the airport late in the day and by the time our flight departed it was dark, which allowed me to get a few aerial pictures of the Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival

Our in-flight meal was a little better than our Beijing to Harbin flight. We got Chinese stir-fry with white rice, yogurt, fruit snack, wheat roll, orange, and bottled water. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad either.

Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport

Even though it was quite late in the evening, our flight to Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport went well.

Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport (IATA: CGO, ICAO: ZHCC) is the principal airport serving Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province, China.

The airport is located in Xinzheng, 37 kilometres (23 mi) southeast of downtown Zhengzhou. It was opened on 28 August 1997, replacing its predecessor, the now-demolished Dongjiao Airport. The airport is the only international airport in Henan and serves as a main gateway for the province and the central plain area.

After Foxconn Zhengzhou (the main production base for iPhone, located just to the north of the airport) was put into operation in 2010, the cargo transport of the airport has been booming. Between 2010 and 2017, the cargo volume handled by the airport increased from metric tonnes, growing by 34 percent yearly on average, making it the seventh-busiest airport in China by cargo traffic.
