Amari Don Muang Airport Hotel
Today we began our twenty-day, nine-city, family tour (Kanchana’s parents) across Thailand. We got started by meeting them at their hotel in Bangkok (Amari Watergate Bangkok – อมารี วอเตอร์เกท กรุงเทพฯ) then took a taxi to Amari Don Muang Airport Hotel.
Since we had an early flight the next day, we needed to find a hotel that was close to the airport. Amari Don Muang Airport Hotel makes this an easy choice as it is connected to Don Muang Airport. There are not a lot of hotel options in this area, but I’m sure this will change over time.
This was our second stay at this hotel, the first time was back in November 2015 – a quick overnighter for a next day, early flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia (Angkor Wat).
Our check-in was very smooth and within a few minutes, we were quickly situated in our hotel rooms. For this stay, we went with the Grand Deluxe King Room (including free breakfast for two). Our room was very spacious, bright, and clean but a little dated when compared to Bangkok’s new modern hotels. But it’s okay, don’t let the decor take away from a great hotel in a great location!
The breakfast buffet in their Zeppelin restaurant was very good. They offered a large selection of American, European, Indian, and Thai choices.
But for a hotel that is directly connected to Don Muang Airport Hotel, this place cannot be beaten for its convenience.
