Xi Jie | West Street Yangshuo
In the heart of Yangshuo County in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region lies the quaint West Street (Xi Jie). This 1,400-year-old street is a pedestrian-only zone lined with shops, restaurants, and cafés. Traditionally, the street was a place for merchants and tradesmen to sell their goods. Today, it is a popular tourist destination known for its unique atmosphere.

Our Li River cruise came to an end at Xi Jie (West Street) in Yangshuo. After departing our boat, we proceeded to take a leisurely walk down the vibrant and colorful Xi Jie Street (West Street). Along the way, we passed by several Chinese and Western restaurants, bars, cafés, souvenir shops, and craft stores. We found it all to be fun and interesting, but it definitely leans a bit toward the tacky, kitsch, and overly touristy.
After leaving the pedestrian area of Xi Jie Street we continued our walk until we reached our hotel Yangshuo Green Lotus Hotel.
