Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Kyoto Shijo
Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Kyoto Shijo is a comfortable hotel in Kyoto where we stayed for 5 nights. The hotel is in a great location, which means it’s within walking distance to many famous places. This made exploring the city really easy for us. Plus, the hotel includes breakfast every day, which was a convenient way to start our day. Overall, our stay at Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Kyoto Shijo was enjoyable and the hotel’s location made our trip even better.
Getting to the Hotel
After arriving at Kyoto Station (by Shinkansen Bullet Train), we used the station’s maps and signs to find the departing location for the train to our hotel – Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Kyoto Shijo. Using the Karasuma Line, we took a short 13-minute train to Shijō Station. From here our hotel was only a short 10-minute walk.

Entrance & Lobby
Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Kyoto Shijo has a small Zen garden just outside its lobby. It’s a peaceful spot where you can see beautiful plants and rocks. The garden is designed in the traditional Japanese style. It’s a nice place to relax and enjoy some quiet time. The Zen garden adds to the charm of the hotel and gives guests a taste of Japanese culture right at their doorstep.

Our Room
I forgot to take pictures of our room when we first arrived, so the ones below were taken on our last day before checking out. Our room (and bathroom) was pretty typical for a standard Japanese room – small, clean, and efficient. The toilet was inside the bathroom instead of a separate room (like in some hotels).

Restaurant / Breakfast
The breakfast at Shizutetsu Hotel Prezio Kyoto Shijo is really good. They have a lot of different foods. You can try Miso Soup, Natto, spicy cod roe, grilled mackerel & salmon, and white rice. They also have rice mixed with grains, boiled tofu, congee, and Kyoto-style hot pot soup. If you like curry, they have curry soup too.
They also serve homemade sausage, scrambled eggs, and fried rice. For veggies, they have Yuzu radish and stir-fried burdock & carrots. If you like fruits and salad, they have those too. They also have a variety of croissants, bread, and rolls for those who like baked goods. For cereal lovers, they have cornflakes and granola. And of course, they have coffee, juices, and a variety of Japanese teas to drink. It’s a great way to start your day!
