Savoy Hotel Yangon

Savoy Hotel Yangon announced in February 2022 that it was closing permanently.

“We would like to thank you for all your stays as hotel guests, visits of our restaurants and Captains Bar, enjoying events and sharing wonderful moments with us. We wish you all the best for the future.”

The hotel industry in Yangon, Myanmar has been hit hard by the recent COVID-19 pandemic and military coup (Feb 1st, 2021). Although some hotels attempted to remain open for essential services only, many have had no other option but to close their doors indefinitely. As a result, thousands of workers within this industry have been affected by job losses and reduced wages.

After having lunch at House of Memories, it was time for us to check into the Savoy Hotel in Yangon.

The Savoy Hotel Yangon is a luxurious and elegant retreat in the heart of Myanmar. Situated in the city’s vibrant downtown district, this five-star hotel offers stunning views of Shwedagon Pagoda and boasts an array of contemporary amenities for guests to enjoy during their stay.
