Luoyang Old Town District

Luoyang Old Town is the perfect place to visit if you’re looking for a traditional Chinese experience. The town is full of narrow streets and alleyways and is home to many old temples and businesses.

Luoyang Old Town is one of the four ancient capitals in China. Located in the west of LuoYang City, it is the political, economic and cultural center of Henan Province. With a long history of more than 3,000 years, it is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization. Luoyang Old Town has many well-preserved ancient buildings and ruins, which are valuable historical and cultural relics.

Luoyang is a city located in the confluence area of Luo River and Yellow River in the west of Henan province.

Situated on the central plain of China, Luoyang is among the oldest cities in China and one of the cradles of Chinese civilization. It is the earliest of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China.

The greater Luoyang area has been sacred ground since the late Neolithic period. This area at the intersection of the Luo River and Yi River was considered to be the geographical center of China. Because of this sacred aspect, several cities – all of which are generally referred to as “Luoyang” – have been built in this area.
