Janka Resort Paro

After stopping to visit a few places in Thimphu, we continued on our way to return to our final hotel in Paro Janka Resort Paro.

Blending the comfort of modern amenities with village life-style, Janka Resort offers its guest the best of both-worlds. Set amidst paddy fields and an old village house, visitors enjoy glimpses of rural life in Bhutan. In a serene and calm setting, the resort is located a few minutes drive from all the tourist attraction in paro. The location is suitable for those who wish to enjoy fresh air and tranquility.

The resort has 17 spacious superior rooms, 4 deluxe rooms, 1 junior suite with mini bar and a small attached kitchen with breathtaking view of rice fields, old houses and monasteries with mountains in the background from the rooms. The large Windows allow sufficient light and fresh air in the room. All rooms have attached bath and toilet with running hot and cold water and are furnished with many amenities for the guest comfort.

Entrance & Lobby

After arriving (late in the day) our guides quickly brought bags into the lobby of the hotel. I didn’t get a chance to take any pictures of the entrance or lobby but it was on the smaller side but nicely decorated.

Our Room

After going through the check-in process (all taken care of by our guides) it was time to go to our rooms. Our room followed the same style and decor as the hotel – basic but functional. It came with two single beds, side tables, small TV and stand, a small table with one chair, a basic wardrobe, and an area for our luggage. The bathroom was also very basic with a tub/shower combo.

Even though the room was very basic, it was cozy and was perfect for our brief two-night stay in Paro.

Restaurant / Breakfast

We forgot to take pictures of the restaurant and our meals at Janka Resort Paro. It was located on the second floor and had great views of the surrounding farmland. We had three meals here (one breakfast and two dinners). All was very good and similar to the meals we had in our previous hotels (mostly vegetarian type dishes).

Last Night in Bhutan

Our last full day in Bhutan all went by so fast – hiking to Tiger’s Nest, visit Kyichu Lhakhang then returning to the hotel for dinner. After dinner, we turned in early to finish packing for our early flight back to Bangkok the next morning.

Later in the evening when we were talking about the events of the day, we could not believe our time in Bhutan was almost done! Where did the time go?!? It was an amazing trip that we found ourselves thinking about days, weeks, and years later. We didn’t know exactly when or how long it might be, but we quickly came to the conclusion – WE HAVE TO COME BACK! 😊 …this country is too amazing to just visit once!
