Hamad International Airport Doha Qatar | Nov 2017
We had a very pleasant experience with Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar (the capital city of Qatar). There is no doubt they have the largest security checkpoint station that we’ve ever seen. There were plenty of scanning stations to cover large volumes of travelers (no waiting, just walk up and enter). It is very similar to other modern international airports that have a “mall-like” feel. This particular airport seems to cater to the more upscale “designer brand” traveler. Big, modern, and very clean design but maybe a bit blander (when compared to other airports such as Seoul Incheon Airport in Korea).

We did have a 3-hour delay on our flight to Bangkok that was due to an issue with the plane. Qatar Airways went out of its way to accommodate us by offering a free breakfast meal at one of the restaurants in the airport. The food was decent but nothing too special (eggs, chicken sausage, hash-brown potatoes, pasta salad). I think it had more to do with us not being that hungry or in the mood for this type of food.

Overall, we were very pleased with Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport and plan to fly with them again in the future.
