Golden Mermaid Statue Songkhla

Golden Mermaid Statue Songkhla is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand. The statue is located in the town of Songkhla, in the southern part of the country. The golden mermaid is said to bring good luck to those who touch her. Thousands of people visit the statue every year, and many of them leave offerings of money or flowers.

This bronze statue was sculpted in 1966 by Jitr Bunbus. the former director of the Arts and Craft College In Bangkok in response to the idea of the Mayor of Songkhla Municipality at the time, Khun Chura Karnchamkapun it was constructed with a budget of 60,000 Baht funded by Songkhlu Municipality and has become the symbol of Samila Beach ever since.
