Flight | Don Mueang Bangkok to Yangon International Airport

Yesterday (28 Nov 2015 | Sat) we had a great flight from Siem Reap to Don Muang Bangkok. I did not take any pictures due to not feeling well (stomach ache). It was a bit of touch and go (especially being a travel day). Once we arrived at Don Muang, we quickly checked in to Amari Don Muang Airport and I went straight to bed. Luckily, I woke up this morning feeling much better and was able to carry on with our travels to Yangon, Myanmar without any more issues.

It is so nice that Amari Don Muang Airport has a direct entrance to the airport. Once you check out, it’s only a 15-minute walk into the terminal. Another great flight from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport to Yangon, Myanmar.

We found the airport in Yangon to be very nice and quite modern. I had already purchased our Myanmar Visa through their “eVisa” program (online) so when we arrived everything was already taken care of.

After getting our processed we got our bags and then went outside to meet our tour guide and driver (through “Tour Mandalay” travel tours).

The airport is currently going through further expansion by upgrading its “Domestic Terminal” – which desperately needs updating, but more on that later.

Yangon International Airport (Burmese: ရန်ကုန်အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာလေဆိပ်; MLCTS: rankun apranyprany hcuingra lehcip [jàɴɡòʊɰ̃ əpjìpjì sʰàɪɴjà lèzeɪʔ]) (IATA: RGN, ICAO: VYYY) is the primary and busiest international airport of Myanmar. The airport is located in Mingaladon, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) north of central Yangon. All ten Myanmar carriers and about 30 international airlines operate at Yangon International Airport. The airport is also colloquially known as Mingaladon Airport due to its location.
