After a two-day overload of Bagan’s thousands of temples, pagodas, and stupas it was time to move on to our next destination – Heho Airport to Kalaw, Myanmar.

Heho is pretty much an air gateway to other destinations in the area (such as the areas we were visiting – Kalaw, Pindaya, and Inle Lake). After arriving at Heho, our new driver and tour guide transported us to our next destination – Kalaw, Myanmar.

Bagan Nyaung-U Airport

Nyaung U Airport (Burmese: ပုဂံညောင်‌ဦးလေဆိပ်) (IATA: NYU, ICAO: VYBG) is an airport located in Nyaung-U (or Nyaung Oo), a town in the Mandalay Region, Myanmar. It is the primary air gateway to the ancient sites of Bagan and surrounding areas. It also known as Nyaung Oo Airport or Bagan Nyaung Oo Airport.

Heho Airport

Heho Airport (Burmese: ဟဲဟိုးလေဆိပ်) (IATA: HEH, ICAO: VYHH) is an airport serving Heho, a town in Kalaw Township, Taunggyi District, Shan State, Myanmar. It is the main airport serving Inle Lake and Taunggyi the former of the top tourist destinations of Myanmar.

Drive to Kalaw

On our drive through the countryside to Kalaw, we noticed a few things:

The beauty of its multicolored rolling hills (that just seem to go forever)
Unlimited wildflowers (except in their case they have miniature sunflowers and poinsettias!)
An abundance of beehives (accompanying their fertile agricultural lands).
