Chedi Phutthakhaya

The Chedi Phutthakhaya in Sangkhla Buri is a Buddhist temple that was built by monk Luang Pho Uttma in the style of Bodhgaya. Bodhgaya is a temple in India thought to be where the Buddha attained enlightenment, and it is a place of pilgrimage for Buddhists from all over the world.

Out front of the temple is a local market with vendors selling food, drinks, and souvenirs, This temple is linked to the monk Luang Phaw Uttama who lived there and is highly respected by the Mon community.

The temple complex is made up of several buildings, including a main hall, a Bodhgaya styled stupa, and a meditation center. The Chedi Phutthakhaya is a beautiful example of Buddhist architecture, and it is worth visiting if you are interested in the history of Buddhism.
